On May 19, the “2017 Expose Walmart Tour” made a stop in Atlanta to raise awareness for workers’ rights at America’s largest employer. Here in Georgia, as well as throughout the country, Wal Mart employees are struggling with poverty wages, erratic schedules, understaffed and under-stocked stores, and mistreatment from management. Special thanks to all the union representatives, community activists and elected officials who came out to demand change!
The 2017 Expose Walmart tour is a 22 state, 30+ city cross-country tour that will expose the many real stories of Walmart’s low wages, poor benefits, taxpayer-subsidized costs, and other negative community impacts. The tour kicks off in Phoenix, AZ on May 15th and ends at Walmart’s annual shareholder meeting in Fayetteville, AR on June 2nd. The tour will feature American workers, Walmart employees, community groups, elected officials, and leaders coming together to propose real solutions to the ‘Walmart-ization’ that is hurting our economy, costing taxpayers, and destroying our jobs.
